Alright, I'll activate *Strength and Courage* and shoot one of the Catnotaurs.

Stewards of The Earth only works with non-hostile dinosaurs so it's unnecessary at the moment.

Gary saw the Carnotaurus pack converging on the back trailer and knew that the reinforced glass can only take so much. Feeling the trailer rocked again from another impact, he did the only thing he could think of no matter how borderline suicidal it was on this island. Draw attention to himself. "Let's hope Captain Planet and Commissioner Smartass can hang in there. Alright Baby! I need you to work with me now more than ever." Skill roll! cMzt5FjIp_2 + roll 1 + dialogue bonus 2 = 5!... Partial success (Oooh just barely, good choice for dialogue) Jamming the keys in an blaring the horn, Gary's efforts did bear some fruit. While he didn't attract the entire pack, he did manage to get several of the creatures away from the back trailer and towards the front trailer. One of the smaller ones try to jam its way into the doorway behind them, snapping and thrashing in an attempt to free entry. The one horned alpha walked around the front trailer, appearing in the headlights as a vague outline of the shadow as it inspected Gary through the windshield. It saw food and was agitated by the horn like it was a challenge, cocking back in slamming into the front of the trailer hard enough to crack the reinforced glass! With a couple more hits, it would break through! Bill channeled the same courage and inner strength he had when aiding the Suchomimus. Invigorated he pulled up his rifle and aimed at a window that was already heavily fractured. Action roll! p_3 + roll 5 + Strength and Courage bonus 1 = 9!... Success! He pulled the trigger and fire a burst of four rounds that shot through the window and hit a subadult Carnotaurus in the chest. It didn't kill the bull sized animal, , rounds were slowed down by having pews to the glass, but it did make it stagger them bleed from the torso. The window might be extremely weakened now, and some of the other Carnotaurus were bearing down upon it, but it had help forced them back briefly with the benefit of the sudden noise scaring Puppy even more to ensure more distress calls. (Bill now has 12 shots left) Seeing the chaos unfold all around them, and knowing Puppy's cries still had to be heard aloud over it or they risked not calling in the adult, Randy put the microphone to the infant and cranked up the volume. "This is quite possibly the worst idea in the history of bad ideas." Action roll! p_3 + roll 3 + role bonus 1 + dialogue bonus 1= 8!... Success! Scared by the gunfire, the blaring trailer horn, and the rabid assault of the Carnotaurus, Puppy let out a long, shrieking, alarm call! And it was answered in booming steps. The tree was knocked over, falling into the clearing and rolling downhill into the side of the trailers. All the Carnotaurus froze, turned, and stared at the direction of the darkness before the loudest roar any good think possible call out. Standing over 14 feet at the hips and with a head the size of a bathtub, the adult Tyrannosaurus rex stomped into the clearing. Indicated by the slight throat waddle, dark green with brown striped coloring, and scars visible on its snout from a previous fight that differed if from the records of the female on Isla Nublar; it was a healthy adult male in its prime. Many of the Carnotaurus wisely scattered and ran off into the shrubs while changing color for cover, the sub-adult one wounded by Bill's rifle wasn't so lucky as even when it changed color for camouflage the Tyrannosaurus rex sniffed the air bore down on it by smell alone. It would glimpse what was going on through the windows and side mirrors, they saw it grab the Carnotaurus by the midsection and yank it off the ground. Like a dog with a rat, it crunched down to a sickening crack and shook the rival predator before tossing it to the ground dead. Not interested in eating, it stepped on the corpse and raked its foot across the stomach and chest area to rip into it and spread the gore. Randy, do you A. Take the microphone away and try to quiet down the infant? (action roll) B. Take the microphone away but keep Puppy vocalizing on the chance this is indeed it's father? (action roll) Bill, do you A. Stay absolutely still and make no movement on logic that its vision is based on movement? (stealth roll) B. Ask Dr. Harding for her assessment at to if this is the parent and what it's doing on risk of being heard? (stealth roll) Gary, do you A. Stay absolutely still and make no movement on logic that its vision is based on movement and humming engine might get more attention than you? (stealth roll) B. Turn off the engine stand absolutely still without making any sound or movement to keep its attention on the back trailer? (stealth roll) ··

I choose B.
Gary: Scarface, say hello to your little boy.
Dive, please calm Puppy or let him vocalize on the chance that yes it's his father.
V, i don't know what you should do.
Ohh and Tarb, can you rewrite the word Jackass into Smartass? And another thing, think you can add the Armored Titan theme from Attack on Titan to the Rex's arrival for Rule of Cool?

I guess B, just so we can confirm this is Puppy's papa and not some random Rex that happened to be in the area. Can't really think of any snappy dialogue.

Maybe start with a prayer that he'll focus on getting the infant to safety and does not have any... Diverse interests in mind.

Randy took the microphone away from the infant as Puppy's alarm calls mellowed out into quiet whimpers, not able to see exactly what was outside. The adult Tyrannosaurus rex looked up from its kill at the sudden loss of sounds coming from the speakers and approached the trailers. Both Bill and Gary shut off what they could and stood absolutely still. Double Stealth roll! JY9nKzDop_p_ 3 + 2 + roll 4 + roll 1 + BBQ sauce bonus 1 = 11!... Partial success!
The Tyrannosaurus slowly moved across the windows while sniffing around. It didn't attack the trailers or rub up into them, but it was clear it knew whatever it was searching for was in them. And unfortunately one other thing became crystal clear. It could see them, staring at any of them for far too long to have not noticed them. It's eyes locked directly onto Gary and then after moving back, Bill. It kept looking elsewhere, practically ignoring the humans.
Puppy made another whimper and caught it's attention, the adult male treading towards the bullet hole riddled, cracked window. If any of them felt like praying, now was the time. With the class already cracked and seeping scent, there was literally nothing to keep an animal the size of a train car from bulldozing through it if it wanted. It all road on Puppy's reaction.
p_ 3 + roll 5 + Stewards of the Earth Bonus 1 = 9!.................................. ...............................................
Puppy wagged his tail up and down and chirped happily like a baby bird, elated at the arrival of a father it recognized by sight and smell just the same way it did on the day it hatched. Success!
The Papa Rex, grumbled lowly and nudged up against the trailers, not even having to push harder than a light tap to rock it. It was an acting out of anger just yet, calm after driving off the rival predators. But it was very very clear, it wanted its child back, now, in wasn't going to take no for an answer.
Team Movements, coordinate this! You need to return Puppy to its father in 2 turns, or else you will incite the rage of the parent and it will destroy the trailers to get to its offspring. There are several possibilities. -You could try getting Puppy out a window or door and practically handing it off or letting it walked back to its father. This might require someone distracting the adult male momentarily with a tool or utility in the trailer, but you must be careful not aggravated it!
-You could try leading a door or window big enough for either Puppy to get out from or the male to reach into and retrieved its offspring, which will require finding a way to get out of strike range in you all to somewhere safely away from Puppy (likely by movement or stealth) just in case the father gets aggressive. ··

Well Let's get Puppy out the door. I could do the Godzilla Victory Dance outside to distract him?
Ohh and Dive, it breaks my heart to tell you this but the DNA test results have shown and it concludes that you are not the father of Puppy.

Okay, then. Let me brainstorm here.
We know we need to get Puppy back to papa rex without papa eating us. So, we need some way to distract him from us opening the door and letting Puppy out. I hate to do this again, but, I still have a few flares left. I could go outside and use them to get it's attention while you two let Puppy out. Of course, that will raise my chances of getting eaten quite a bit. And I'd rather not know what it's like to be munched on, thank you very much. I suppose we need something that would get his attention while not awakening his predatory instincts. Any suggestions? I'm really open to anything.

Well... I could possibly go over there, borrow one of your flares and do the above mentioned Godzilla Victory Dance?
Only other thing i have at the moment is the airhorn since i tossed the flashlight outside but I'm not sure if it wouldn't startle him.

Yeah, I'd prefer not to use the airhorn. At the very least, it's been proven that Rexes are intrigued by flares. Plus, animals that are afraid are some of the most dangerous, and I'd rather not scare something that's five times my size. We should probably wait for Vman's input since we can't move forward without him.

Perhaps, though i really don't know what to do to distract the rex without exciting him given that I'm not properly equipped.

Maybe I could pull a dr. Grant and run out with the flare then chuck it away while you and Vman get Puppy out of there.
Edit: By the way, Tarb, are these normal rexes, or JP rexes that can't see you when you don't move?

Maybe... But his attention is mainly on the infant, I don't think pulling a Grant would be completely effective.
Perhaps we can try the second scenario where we would have to worry about possibly dodging the Rex should it get aggressive?

The second scenario seems safer, to be sure. Either way, I think we can all agree that once Puppy is out of the trailers we run like hell.

Wait, i think i could turn on the engine and use the noise to get his attention!
Also i think we should move this conversation to the OOC Chat Thread.

This uses some elements of the novel, which does establish the T.rexes can actually see still objects just fine.

Thanks.
Anyway, I'm honestly thinking we just open the door and have someone carry Puppy out (I'll do it if no one else will). Papa Rex is only here for his baby. If we show him we're not a threat, he might leave us alone.

You know, we probably should and i do think you should be the one to carry Puppy since he's most familiar with you and you have the Stewards of The Earth Perk that will boost your roll.
As for possibly distracting Papa? I was just thinking that me and V sing a duet because screw it, why not?

Alright, we just have to figure out which song...
What about that collab with David Bowie and Queen? We could try that.
Edit: The song is fittingly called Under Pressure. Let's hope it piques his curiosity, you know? Like father, like son. We should also probably activate Stewards of The Earth.
