InGen Records: Carnivorous Dinosaurs (More to be unlocked as the Game Progresses)Procompsognathus "Compy"Species: Procompsognathus triassicusLength: 4 feet
Height: 2.5 feet
Weight: 3 pounds
Coloration: Beige-green body with a dark stripe going horizontally from the eye to the tail across the flank. Eyes are a bright orange to red.
Diet: Carrion, feces, and small animals. They will attack man sized prey if it is already injured.
Preferred Habitat: Island wide, though they prefer the coastline
Social Structure: Can be found solitary on occasion, but frequently move in very large, loosely packed mobs of up to thirty individuals.
InGen Behavioral Records: Cloned by Hammond's request to have some small species to surprise the guests whom might think dinosaurs were all enormous, Procompsognathus or "Compy (plr. Compies)" lacks the threatening presence or scale of other predators. In terms of temperament it is considered extremely docile, however there was a recorded incident of a worker who suffered a gash on some sharp fencing being bitten when the Compy near him smelled blood. He felt a numbness and delirium that lasted hours after the bite and had to be taken to the hospital. Thus it is likely the species possesses a mild venom that either helps soften up its food when scavenging or finish off weakened prey.
Suchomimus "Sucho"Species: Suchomimus tanneriLength: 40 feet
Height: 12 feet
Weight: 5 tons
Coloration: Gray-blue with tan-yellow highlights that help break up its outline when in the under-story of the jungle or in water.
Diet: Mainly fish, though it will sometimes also kill medium to small dinosaurs and won't turn down carrion. It's especially fond of the taste of eel. Ignores mammals.
Preferred Habitat: Near rivers, lakes or coasts throughout Isla Sorna. Sometimes they can be found far inland if coaxed by the smell of food or curiosity.
Social Structure: Either solitary or in pairs.
InGen Behavioral Records: While very large, the second largest predatory dinosaur ever created on the official roster, the
Suchomimus is a far tamer beast than the slightly larger
Tyrannosaurus. While it can be provoked and might become defensive around food, no reports are found showing the
Suchomimus specimens InGen cloned ever seemed predatory or lastingly hostile towards staff. Despite being twice the mass of the
Ceratosaurus and
Carnotaurus, it was ranked as a lower security risk and was regarded as a gentle giant. Why the docility isn't exactly clear, given the
Suchomimus specimens did seem to stare at the herbivores with predatory intent. It's been suggested the species just doesn't find the smell or taste of mammals palatable, given they also refused to eat cows or goats unless starving. Still, caution should be advised for all personnel as it is still a very large animal and sports a pair of large jaws and massive claws.
*Addition of VTD Team: This docility towards humans was further confirmed when the team encountered an injured adult
Suchomimus. Not only did the creature seek out the group's aid, likely remembering training and medical care given to it by InGen staff when housed on Isla Sorna, but the creature reacted defensively when another carnivore approached.
InGen Records: Herbivorous Dinosaurs (More to be unlocked as the Game Progresses)StegosaurusSpecies: Stegosaurus stenops gigasLength: 40 feet
Height: 12 feet (top of hips), 15 feet (top of plates)
Weight: 5 tons
Coloration: Gray and green mottled bodies with gray plates (golden yellow in sunlight; tinted red or orange when flushed with blood).
Diet: Low to medium-growth plants.
Stegosaurus prefers tender shoots growing around creek beds due to its simple tooth structure.
Preferred Habitat: Broken forests near water supplies, often near creeks and rivers.
Social Structure: Stegosaurus is a very herd oriented species - a fellow
Stegosaurus doesn’t even need to be in the same herd to offer its protection for another and will come to the aid of others. Herds usually consist of four to seven individuals, however multiple herds will occasionally group together.
Stegosaurus has been known to herd with other animals as well, such as
hadrosaurs.
InGen Behavioral Records: An iconic dinosaur,
Stegosaurus was a sure-win for Jurassic Park. Easily recognizable, large without being overly so, and reasonably docile; Hammond loved the species and commissioned many of them be cloned. They stuck together in medium sized herds and seemed to prefer the swampy and river filled areas. While placid, caution must be made towards the species' thagomizer tail arrangement, which contains four spines that can be up to a meter long. This was meant to be used as a weapon against predators and can be extremely dangerous if struck.
*Addition of VTD Team: However as the expedition team found out, InGen was unaware of all their traits since going wild. While the adults can be very docile around humans when on their own, likely owed due to their Jurassic period predators all being far larger than humans with
Dromaeosaurids (Raptors) not having evolved yet; they can become extremely protective of their offspring. InGen didn't know this as no breeding occurred until after 1993 on Nublar and 1995 on Sorna. Do not get near
