Gary could still feel his pulse quake, "Ahh! My childhood self was right, there are monsters lurking in the dark..."
He muttered to himself while trying to stalk his way towards the central door. Action roll!
eZ7Nu1j0p_
3 + roll 3 + dialogue bonus 1 - 1 dizziness = 9!... Partial Success!
Randy started to climb down from the edge of the trailer to get between them and towards the doors. That's when he felt hot breath bearing down on him. In a mobile blur, one of the Carnotaurus had noticed him and was charging. Reacting fast, Gary pried open the first door he could reach and tore it open just as its hatch-like head swung for him. The jaws snapped on empty air and he'd skillfully avoided getting bitten, grabbed, and then likely torn into. He managed to instead get inside and slam the door shut behind him, with impacting dinosaur throwing him back. The door swung open loosely, knocked off its hinge and unable to stay closed at the moment (can be repaired by Bill or with tools later), but the entrance was too narrow and at too tight an angle for the Abelisaurid, or even the smaller ones of the pack, to get inside. But as he collected himself up from the floor and made sure he was at a safe distance, a harrowing realization caught him. he glimpsed something shiny on the Carnotaurus' jaw, caught on a tooth before falling to the ground.
The trailer keys.
STATUS: Gary is no stuck inside the driver's trailer and the trailer keys dropped to the ground between the trailers. The driving trailer door will need to be repaired or else small to man-sized dinosaurs might be able to get inside!
A minute earlier...
Randy and Bill tore open all the medical supplies and puzzled over the possible utility to seal up the wound.
"Mark my words Randy," Bill muttered while glancing at the Tyrannosaurus rex, "This will go down in history as one of the worst ideas in the history of mankind's bad ideas."
"Be our mistake to make then if it comes to it," Randy tapped as his chin as he mulled over superglue and staples, "You'd think all the time I spend looking at these things' bones I'd know how to put them back together. Let's try this."
Randy picked up the liquid bandage and they hovered over the baby T.rex. Double Skill roll!
p_p_ 3 + 4 + roll 1 + roll 6 = 14!.... Success!
Managing to hold the leg wound shut, they crisscrossed the external wound with the liquid bandage. It was hard to use on the gash due to the baby dinosaur's feathers and the wide wound, but after going through about three applicators they managed it well enough to hold.
"Well once the bandaging is on, that should keep it all shut," Bill noted.
Sarah Harding's voice chimed in over the radio, "Adhesives would have probably worked better, but it'll do. Now for bindings you'll need to keep it tight enough to hold but don't over do i-" The sound of the Carnotaurus lunging at Gary outside the door rang out so loud even Sarah heard it.
"... Boys, what was that?"
Gary's voice chimed in over the comlinks, "I'm-... okay... Close call but we got a bit of a situation here..."
Gary, do you A. Try to pull down a shelf to barricade the door? (action roll) B. Scavenge inside the trailer to see if there is anything useful to use? (stealth roll)
Randy, do you A. Start making the bandaging needed to finish up the surgery? (skill roll) B. Try to lure the Carnotaurus away by opening a window slightly and making a lot of noise? (action roll)
Bill, do you A. Start making the bandaging needed to finish up the surgery? (skill roll) B. Try to shoot the nearest Carnotaurus with your assault rifle by attempting to see where it is? (action roll)
Current Objectives: -Find a way to drive off the Carnotaurus pack -Mend the baby Tyrannosaur's wounds by the time the adult shows up -Free Gary from being trapped inside the first trailer and get the keys ··

Also why am i suffering dizziness for more than two turns?
I choose B.
Gary: You know, in my entire career as a game warden. I can't remember if i had ever dealt with a situation like this before... But f**king hell I'll just wing it.
Dive, lure them away.
V, finish the bandages.

(Sorry to keep you waiting folks, was away from PC until late last night and my phone refused to load this site)
Gary and Randy's dizziness is cured from the tranquilizer agents wearing off alongside adrenaline!
Gary regarded the door behind him, namely the course breathing that you hear outside to confirm the creature was still there despite the fact he couldn't see it clearly. It, and likely more of its pack, were waiting.
He shrugged, "You know, in my entire career as a game warden. I can't remember if i had ever dealt with a situation like this before... But f**king hell I'll just wing it."
Stealth roll! WldCNKLkp_ 3 + roll 5 + dialogue bonus 1 = 9!... Success!
Scavenging about, Gary found- * A flashlight * A connector to the front trailer's loudspeaker that can connect to the communications link tied to other trailer * An air-horn that is still operable * A can of barbecue sauce
Randy got up from the operation table and steeled himself as he went towards the window
"Well, just add this to the many dumb things I've done on this trip."
Making sure to do it at a barred window in case anything tried to ram its way through to get to him, Randy inhaled deep breath before rapidly yelling and banging on metal to make as much racket as he could.
Action roll! p_
3 + roll 2 + dialogue bonus 1 = 6!... Partial success!
While he did manage to attract several Carnotaurus, ranging from a young one was approximately man sized to one of the sub adults the size of a large horse, it became too crowded around the window for all of the pack come over. And he didn't manage to attract the largest one nor the one in front of the door barring Randy's exit. He heard the largest one growl and nudge the trailer in response, hard enough to tilt it.
"Ah come on!"
Bill rolled his eyes as the trailer rocked, just tending to his work on the infant.
"At least I don't have to take care of screamapillars... Now just stay calm, you bird-brained tyrant prince and we'll get you back to your parents, alright?", he muttered while patting the groggy youngster on the shoulder.
The infant stirred slightly from the trailer rocking and the scent of the other predators. It would wake soon and that meant he had to get this all done quick.
Skill roll! p_ 3 + roll 5 + dialogue bonus 1 = 9!... Success!
"Okay now so the bandaging in the mixture of vinegar and salt water, ring out the excess.", Dr. Harding noted through the radio as Bill followed along exactly.
Bill admired his handiwork while going back to the infant, "Done so, to the wounds closed already the excess salt shouldn't hurt."
"Correct."
Managing to gently bind up the infant's leg with one eye on the x-ray to make sure the bones were still lining up properly, Bill bandaged up the infant and sealed the bandage to itself with some superglue. By the end of the minute a makeshift cast was done.
"Long as the bones stay end to end, little one will be just fine. Congratulations Bill, you and Randy just performed the first-ever recorded surgery on wild dinosaur."
HIDDEN OBJECTIVE CLEARED!: "Stewards of the Earth" - The altruism of the team shines through as does their skill, all action and skill rolls involving nonhostile dinosaurs or parts of the anatomy receive a +1 bonus for the rest of the chapter when chosen be activated!
Mended, the infant Tyrannosaurus begins to squirm. Puppy is slowly waking up from a tranquilizer and they can smell predators all around them I started to whimper any other dinosaurs start to hear it. The half invisible Carnotaurus start to corral around the trailer from all entrances, sniffing and investigating. Just as the half awake baby can smell them, they can all definitely smell it. Easy prey and all rival predator who's still young and vulnerable, practically a magnet to the pack. The biggest one pushes its snout into the window, testing and before headbutting it hard enough to crack the reinforced glass.
Team Mauve Shirts! You need to find a way to drive off the entire Carnotaurus pack before they rip their way inside. There are too many of them the tranquilize or shoot with the assault rifle. Using the gear you have, utilities of the trailer, and maybe even the guest you have; you need to find a way to startle and scare them off. HINT: It doesn't involve the barbecue sauce but it might involve speakers ··

Wait, i think i can use the speaker connection to amplify Puppy's distress call... I'm not sure we want to do that because it may lure mama and papa rex. Unless that's your plan. Granted, we may be able to lure them off if we just give them Puppy.

It is my plan. We all know the arrival of Puppy's parents is inevitable so if it's going to happen anyway, i want it to be on our terms and advantage.
Besides, the flashlight and airhorn are stuck with me so you technically can't use them but i could to distract the Carnos after i set up the connection.
If you have a better plan, Dive. I'm honestly all ears.

Deciding that it was better for the inevitable arrival of the Tyrannosaurus adults to happen when there was a whole pack of other predators to be worried about rather than for humans, a plan was drawn to try use the infant's distress calls and have the parents arrived to scare off the Carnotaurus pack.
Being the only one with access to loudspeakers, Gary could only turn on a few lights inside the cabin to try to get about connecting and rerouting the audio sources. However the first thing he'd have to do is get the currently closest Carnotaurus away from the door so he could get the audio connector. Flashlight in hand, he approached. He even bothered to slather his jacket down with some barbecue sauce (+1 to stealth rolls) to throw off his scent so he could catch it by surprise. Eying the vague outline he could see outside, he flicked on the switch and got swinging. Skill roll!
UYDYPM8Hp_ 3 + roll 5 = 8!... Success!
The beam of white light crisscrossed over the dinosaur's hide, forcing it to try and compensate for the light by brightening up patches of its skin. But the motions of light with two frantic and rapid for to adapt to, causing it to sport an almost zebra like pattern of white stripes across a the body. The Carnotaurus bellowed in alarm and backed off away from the door, Gary keeping the shine on it until it was a good 20 feet away and retreating.
Bill meanwhile, the most technology minded of the ground, went about the fuse boxes. The communications link and the loudspeakers might have used the same ports, but they were at different voltages. Without something to compensate, they could end up frying half their systems.
"Okay let's make sure we don't win a Darwin award here..."
Pulling out two fuses to switch them around, he hoped he could get the connection right. Skill roll!
p_ 3 + roll 2 + role bonus 2 = 7!... Success!
Managing to pull it off without a hitch, he swapped around the fuses and adjusted the breakers. The communications link was down now, but it was ready to be connected to the loudspeakers. Now they just needed their singer.
"Alright, let's do our part then," Randy noted as he took the com-link and set it near the infant Tyrannosaurus.
Sure enough, Puppy did start to whimper and groan tiredly. However, this had the opposite effect that they were hoping for. The Carnotaurus could hear the whimpering inside and brushed up more against the trailers to try and find the source. They knew a baby Tyrannosaurus was somewhere nearby, and they were going to kill it!
"Shit! Shit!"
Randy tried to stroke impact the infant to get it to stop whimpering. They need an alarm call, not crying. Action roll!
p_
3 + roll 5 + role bonus 1 = 9!... Success!
Puppy squeaked and curled up groggily against Randy's hand, quieting down and calming the wrath of the Carnotaurus as they searched about to see where the noise had left to. The 20lb infant is not fully awake. Puppy is groggy and starting to come to, but still to delirious to be fully frightened and let out a distress call. That will need to change, the Carnotaurus are right outside the windows.
Randy, do you A. Give the infant a reduced epinephrine (adrenaline) shot meant for 200lb man at a dosage of 1 part adrenaline 9 parts water? (skill roll) B. Give the infant a reduced epinephrine (adrenaline) shot meant for 200lb man at a dosage of 1 part adrenaline 19 parts water? (skill roll)
Bill, do you A. Open the door briefly and call for Gary to throw you the airhorn to use on the Carnotaurus? (action roll) B. Reroute power in the fuses to boost the power of the external lights and flood the space around the trailers with light? (skill roll)
Gary, do you A. Immediately connect in the com-link to the loud speakers? (skill roll) B. Throw the flashlight outside to see if it could distract the Carnotaurus and then head up to do A? (stealth roll) ··

V, focus on rerouting the power.
Dive, i believe the correct measurements are the same as the tranquilizer. 1 part adrenaline and 9 parts water considering 200÷10=20.
Edit Note: Dive makes for an adorable Rex babysitter, we should get fanart of it.
Also Dialogue.

Taking in a deep breath, Gary roared out the door in a way he was sure the others could hear him and know it was now the time to act. "Guys! Let's play a game of Finding Waldo!"
He lobbed his flashlight out the door in a way that it would tumble end over end and be sure to get a lot of attention as he made his way to the wiring. Stealth roll! wkeR6yKmp_ 3 + roll 1 + dialogue bonus 1 + BBQ sauce bonus 1 + role bonus 2 = 8!... Success!
Succeeding in getting to the wiring unnoticed as the Carnotaurus squawked in surprise and chased the flashlight, Gary linked the wires together and flipped the switch to give it power.
With this system primed, they needed an opening to use it. Bill was going to give them that even as he shrugged and snapped several fuses into place alongside Dr. Levine's aid to reroute the power.
"Connector in place," Levine called out whilst his face was buried in the secondary fuse cabinet across the cabin. "This is going to seriously tax the battery, and we can't recharge at night with no sun on the solar panels."
Bill rolled his eyes. Darkened trailer or getting mauled, he'd pick former.
"Well, it seems we've got to waste more power tonight,"
Skill roll!
p_ 3 + roll 5 + dialogue bonus 1 + role bonus 1 = 10!... Success!
"NOW LET THERE BE LIGHT!"
On his command and a flip of the switch, the entire trailer hummed with energy and several other systems dimmed. The outside lights surrounding the top railings of the trailers flooded the nearby area with light. It wouldn't last long, maybe a minute, but that meant it had certainly bought them free time as every single one of the Carnotaurus bellowed or shrieked in surprise and abandon their attack on the trailers; for now. The alpha turned and roared through the blinding light, glaring directly the to human it could see under the lights for backing off into the shrubs to camouflage and regroup.
Now they just needed Puppy to "sing their solo" to bring something that would keep them away when the lights flickered out. Randy busily worked and toiled at the medical counter to get something to wake the infant up. Picking up a syringe of adrenaline, he could only pray this would work and burn the tranquilizer out of its system.
"Somehow, I didn't think I'd ever see a baby Tyrannosaurus Rex on speed. Well, here goes nothing!"
"Wait!", Dr. Harding cried out through the radio.
"Be sure to dilute it down, too big a dosage and you'll put it into shock!"
"Right, way ahead of you!", Randy barked while remixing the adrenaline fluid into a jar and filling in sole distilled water; hoping he'd made the right mental calculation as they only had minutes to spare.
Skill roll! p_
3 + roll 3 + dialogue bonus 1 = 7!... Success (oooh only just barely!)
Correctly guessing the animal needed roughly 1/10th the dosage size, Randy collected up the new solution in the syringe with Dr. Harding guiding him through the process over the radio.
"Alright, inject it into the largest artery you see on the inside of the right leg."
Doing so, Randy emptied the solution and bit his lip. Within 15 seconds, Puppy's eyes fluttered open and his breathing became stronger. The monitors indicated increased heartbeat and it started to squirm in its bonds. The infant Tyrannosaurus rex was soon fully awake regarding its surroundings with a mix of curiosity and confusion, but not fear just yet.
Bill, do you A. Keep the lights going and tax the battery to keep the Carnotaurus away? (skill roll) B. Tone the lights back down in return the outside area to darkness, saving the battery power but the Carnotaurus will return? (skill roll)
Randy, do you A. Undo Puppy's bond and let it get up so it can see around better and maybe be startled by what's around it? (action roll) B. Keep it strapped down and try shouting at it to get it to call out in alarm? (action roll)
Gary, do you A. Chance reaching out and getting the fallen trailer keys? (stealth roll) B. Seize the chance and jump across the connector and open the door to get into the other trailer? (action roll) ··

V, keep the lights on. Though on second thought, that may work against us in the long term...
Dive, choose whatever you feel is best, probably unstrap it. Each choice has pros and cons, keeping it strapped and yelling at it may cause it to lose what little trust it has in you but unstrapping it could lead to less predictable results... Perhaps use the *Stewards of The Earth* perk for either choice?
I choose A.

He caught a glimpse of the Carnotaurus who'd been outside the door heading for cover.
"I've found Waldo."
Seizing his chance to try and grab the keys whilst the Carnotaurus seemed repulsed temporarily, Gary lunged out towards a slight glimmer he could see on the ground. Stealth roll! iugDAEDyp_ 3 + roll 4 + dialogue bonus 1 + BBQsauce bonus 1 = 9!... Success!
Dodging out, Gary managed to grab the keys just in time for one of the Carnotaurus to notice him and bellow loudly before approaching, compensating for the light influx despite obviously straining too. Wisely, he ducked back inside to safety.
"Daaamniiiit, they're adjusting to the light and coming back!", Levine barked as he saw several of the Carnotaurus, pale in color to compensate for the light, slowly stalking forward with clear aggression in their manner.
Randy swore under his breath and acted quick, undoing Puppy's bonds and trying to stand the Tyrannosaurus up. The youngling chirped quietly, thankfully feeling secure around the humans and not distressed at all while also managing to stand up properly on its leg. He gently set it up on the table and tried to get it to look out the window.
"Here goes nothing!"
Action roll! p_ 3 + roll 6 + dialogue bonus 1 + Stewards of the Earth 1 = 11!... Bonus success!
The little Tyrannosaurus looked around and sniffed the air, taking in its surroundings and freezing up when it heard the low bellow of one of the Carnotaurus. After gaining a visual of the pale, horned creatures stalking forward and not seeing the glass between them; the little creature did what instinct told it too, right into the microphone to the com-link Randy put up to its mouth.
Seeing they needed more time, Bill shrugged and rerouted more power to the lights in hopes it would force back the returning Carnotaurus.
"Oh good, more power wasting... Say, where did Wallace, Waldo, Wally and Gromit the Carnotaurs go?", he muttered sarcastically, knowing he'd get his answer with a look outside.
Skill roll! p_
3 + roll 1 + role bonus 1 + dialogue bonus 1 = 6!... Partial success! (ooooh, ony just so. Sorry)
The lights intensified, humming louder and louder. They did force the Carnotaurus back briefly even as the infant's cries enticed them... but then the bulbs were overloaded and half of them shattered one after another. Bill swore and quickly turned off the power to avoid losing them all, casting the outside in darkness. The Carnotaurus pack called out and came at the trailers with abandoned, ramming into the side and rocking the vehicle, denting metal and fracturing the glass. Puppy cried out more, and the calls didn't go unanswered. In the distance of the forest, in the echos of Puppy's enlarged cries, Papa was very angry.
You need to hold off the Carnotaurus until the buck Tyrannosaurus rex can arrive, "Papa Berenstain" will arrive in 2 turns!
Gary, do you A. Revv up the trailer's engines to try and startle the Carnotaurus back? (skill roll) B. Blast the trailer's horn to try and draw attention to the front trailer and away from the others? (skill roll)
Randy, do you A. Keep the infant broadcasting to try and speed up the adult's approach? (action roll + bonus) B. Shut the broadcast off and make lots of other noise in a bid to confuse the predators? (action roll + bonus)
Bill, do you A. Shoot at one of the Carnotaurus one of a windows to try and force it back? (action roll) B. Turn the lights back on at full blast to try and force them back at cost of the lights? (skill roll) ··

Gary: Let's hope Captain Planet and Commissioner Jackass can hang in there. Alright Baby! I need you to work with me now more than ever.
Dive, keep little Frank Sinatra singing. Or try the other way that could stall them.
