Randy gulped and put on his ghillie suit after eyeing the snare.
"Shot in the dark, but that snare is keeping it here. Either it sees us as easy prey because it can't run right anymore or it's waiting for help. Zoo animals are often taught to go to the keeper door if they feel ill, and this guy was meant for a big zoo before he was turned loose, right?"
Gary had a lot of logic against a chancy move like this, but couldn't help but feel some pity after seeing the glint of the snare on the otherwise peaceful dinosaur's legs. It was painful just to look at.
"Oye, damn conscious sometimes. Here, take this so you can cut the rope," he whispered while passing his k-bar knife to Randy and held up the com-link. "You get any of that Bill?"
"-pzzzt- Yeah, not keen on it but good a plan as any."
On Bill's side he tried to ignore the fact the Suchomimus was still staring at him and looked at its legs. He clicked back on the com-link, "Look if this is gonna work, going to need something bigger than the knife for the metallic parts. Guess I'm doing surgery with the bolt cutters... We sure this thing isn't going to rip us to shreds?"
Randy sighed, "Woulda tried by now if it wanted to. Zoo animal theory holding water. But a distraction couldn't hurt."
Gary eyed the driver's seat and perked his brow, "I can do that. Get ready you two. Try not to die."
After a few moments of waiting the Suchomimus perked up at a new disturbance. Gary pounded on the windshield and flickered the cabin lights on and off, even having the guts to roll down the window and wave his hand outside.. while keeping a firm eye on the side mirror and paying the "Objects in mirror are closer than they appear" notice of course.
The Suchomimus tilted its head and got up, walking up to the front of the trailer to be illuminated in the low cabin lights as it regarded Gary.
Randy and Bill stepped out the side doors quietly, following behind with Randy in front to keep both of them obscured by the ghillie suit. Knife and boltcutters in hand, they snuck up on the distracted dinosaur's rope and wire bonds that made up the snare. The snare had done some damage, cutting into the ankles and causing the dinosaur to bleed in some spots, but it didn't look too bad or infected. Both needed to be cut to free it.
Randy slowly took to the rope and put it to the blade. Skill roll! 0Acbp24Kp_ 4 + Roll 5 = 9!... Success!
Bill, quietly as he could, put the snag wire to the boltcutters and pressed down to ease the sheers in. Skill roll! p_ 3 + 5 + 1 role bonus = 9!... Success!
Both bonds were cut and as the Suchomimus shifted slightly, they fell out entirely. They both freeze when the Suchomimus swung its head around and clearly looked upon them. But Randy's theory thankfully proved to be true. Not only did the species show an avoidance for preying of mammals, perhaps driven off by smell or taste, but this particular specimen lived for years under InGen's care before the island was evacuated. Much like many captive birds and zoo fauna, it knew to seek humans. It might have gotten it into the trap mess to begin with, narrowly avoiding capture by BioSyn, but it did seek them again to get it off. It gurgled pleasantly, sniffing at the humans before turning away and now much more comfortably plodding off to its pond.
Hidden Objective Cleared!: Across the game will be hidden objectives, chances to cause a major shift. Hidden objectives aren't listed nor are required to proceed, but come with a reward. Reward!: Courage and Focus. For having the guts to help a 5 ton carnivore, your character's got some serious guts and determination. The player can choose to activate this once at any time to give them a +1 to all rolls for the rest of the chapter.
Breathing a silent sigh of relief, the duo make their way back to the doors when seems very wrong. There is a snort and a growl, a big one, but they can't catch sight of what it is. It's dark and very hard to see what it is as the flare light dies away, there is something there based off the hisses and footsteps. Randy and Bill hurry inside the trailer just as something smacks into the side of it and rocks the entire vehicle. Sprawled over, the pair can't see what's going on other than glimpsing something very hard to see rams into the door. A tail smacks into the side window and cracks it.
"It's free! Get us out of here!", Randy bellowed.
Bil scrambled for his gun just in case, "Punch it punch it!"
"Hang on!", Gary shouted back from the driver's seat as the electric engine revved up.
The attacking shape blacked out the back window, like it was about to come through it, when an even louder roar cut it off. A shadow of crocodile-like jaws and massive claws crossed the trailer cabin as the Suchomimus rushed alongside it and pounced upon the intruder to aid it's human compatriots. It's still unclear just what the crocodile-mimic is fighting, but the more docile predator thankfully seems to be the larger of the two and has the upperhand. The sound of gnashing teeth, hisses, and shearing claws rang out as the trailer sped away from two quarreling carnivory with the sound of the Suchomimus' roar, towards more. Towards the BioSyn camp.
After a ten minute drive to collect themselves, they're there.
The BioSyn camp is set on the far end of the Game Trail, an opening between two massive strands of redwood forest. The trodden ground and distant cries indicate this is a well traveled land by large herbivores, probably why BioSyn set up there. Parking under cover, you weigh your options.

We're goddamn heroes! All of us, Sucho included. We should make the Suchomimus our team mascot.
I choose Option B. V... I honestly don't know whether you should stick with us or man the radio which I suspect for good reason, is compromised.

"Right, this is where the fun begins," Randy muttered as he geared up in his ghillie suit and set out to circle around the far side of the Game Trail.
"Yeah well I'm going to just hope we don't find a situation fancying use of this," Bill grumbled as he racked his rifle to get it ready and following suit.
Gary stayed up on the hill, obscured by the back foliage as he pulled out his binoculars. "Be sure to try and signal if things go south. Stealth be damned but if a situation happens I'll get the trailers down for pick up."
Randy and Bill made their way across the enormous Game Trail at a cautious pace, keeping an eye out for dinosaurs, humans, and any possible traps as they neared the camp. Stealth roll! |wW8o4Bop_ 1 + ghillie bonus 2 + roll 6 + assist bonus 2 = 11!... Bonus success!
Randy and Bill skillfully approach and got to the fringes of the BioSyn camp, managing to see and avoid the myriad of traps and snares encircling it. What's more, using Bill's bolt cutters they even manage to disable some of the traps to make movement easier. Able to get up close, they have a very clear view of the BioSyn camp. The base camp is surrounded by a likely electrified fence, similar to one would expect for keeping large cattle or rhinos corralled. Inside are a dozen or so tents of variable size and numerous parked vehicles ranging from jeeps to hauler trucks. Many are alongside several cages, the largest of which is several meters in span and height, but even then it just barely fits the large dinosaur housed inside it. Big or small though, they seem far too cramped for the creatures inside them. There's roughly two dozen men, likely professional poachers and mercenaries given the prevalent wildlife product attire and military theme creating a mix of dog tags and tiger claw hats. Many of them are armed. And many are celebrating around a small cage which contains and obviously distressed creature given the squawking and cries coming from it. One man is shouting at them to stop, but it's hard to make out what he's saying through the partying. At a glimpse though, he looks obviously very different from the more grizzled or muscular BioSyn group though, a bit on the portly side with a pair of wide spectacles and posh accent.
"Confounded imbeciles, if you keep it up it'll keep calling!"
One of the merc laughs and uncorked a large bottle, "Well we'll just have to let our chum have a cool one and ease up!"
He starts pouring it on whatever is in the cage, earning more mewls of distress. The portly man tried to stop him but gets thrown back in a way that makes him more visible, showing he's handcuffed.
"Shit," Bill grumbled, "Think we found Dr. Levine."
"Attention gentlemen?", a booming voice calls out through the base coms, "If I could draw you to the center, we have an important conference with our employer. Try not to spill anything on the satellite link."
The BioSyn goonsquad pulls back, though a few are left on watch, all armed behind an electrified fence with no entrances.
Across the Game Trail, Gary puts up his binoculars and sweeps back and forth on survey. Skill roll! p_ 3 + roll 5 = 8!... Partial success!
He sees the BionSyn camp clear as day, though with some lack of detail given the distance. He can make out some tall dish they've set up but nothing beyond that. But aside from there he does see something else interesting. Following a low call, he glimpses an extremely dinosaur moving through the Game Trail's forested edge. He can't tell the features other than its definitely big, likely larger than the Suchomimus and seems to be trailing something though it's obscured by some trees and he's not quite a dinosaur expert.
Randy, do you A. Try to signal Dr. Levine? (stealth roll) B. Try to identify the dinosaurs in the cages? (skill roll + role bonus)
Bill, do you A. See if you can find the control console to the fence's power? (stealth roll) B. Attempt to walk into the camp using your gun to pose as a member of the BioSyn team? (action roll)
Gary, do you A. Move closer to the dinosaur to try and get a better look at it? (stealth roll) B. Go to the trailers and get Bill's field guide to see if you can ID the species? (skill roll) ·

To be fair, I think you coulda pulled it off V. Mauve Shirts, move out! ======================================================================== Gary got the field guide from the trailers and had another look, being wary of his surroundings. Skill roll! SBMXQtGqp_3 + roll 5 + 2 binoculars = 10!.. Success! Gary successfully identified the species as Mamenchisaurus! MamenchisaurusSpecies: Mamenchisaurus constructusHeight: 35 feet Length: 82 feet Weight: 35+ tons Thankfully the large herbivore was peacefully grazing on the tall trees as it moved along to the east of the camp. While not a threat as it didn't seem territorial or aggressive unless possibly provoked, it still was a truly enormous animal. Bullets would probably just anger it because it's so massive they'd fail to do damage and that along with sheer size is probably why BioSyn has ignored it thus far. An overturned car indicates they might have tried. Bill snuck about the perimeter of the fencing, looking for some sort of console or generator. It was clear they had to sabotage BioSyn, or else the genie could be out of the bottle with dinosaurs off the island and out of InGen's hands. Not to mention rescuing Dr. Levine. Stealth roll! p_3 + roll 3 = 6!... Success! Bill successfully found the console on the east end. The only problem was while he could read it, it was unreachable from the outside unless one wanted to seriously risk getting electrocuted. He could however make out the label. APC-Guard Fencing. 2,000 volts min-4,000 volt max Anchored, impact proofed to 36,000lbsStrong stuff to be sure, could definitely stop a rhino, elephant, or even most speeding automobiles short of a fully loaded trailer. It's clear through, trying to sabotage it will require a way to either ram it down or get a way inside after opening a hole. Randy scouted out with Bill, getting a good angle at the cages. There are four in total. p_p_p_p_3 + Roll 1 + role bonus 2 = 6!... Success 3 + Roll 1 + role bonus 2 = 6!... Failure 3 + Roll 1 + role bonus 2 = 6!... Success 3 + Roll 1 + role bonus 2 = 6!... Success Looking from cage to cage almost like a kid in the candy store, Randy identified a Parasaurolophus, Pachycephalosaurus, and the young Stegosaurus from earlier with its parent. He can't quite make out the last cage though. Species: Pachycephalosaurus wyomingensis Height: 5 feet Length: 13 feet Weight: 1,000 lbs Species: Parasaurolophus walkeriHeight: 13 feet Length: 30 feet Weight: 3 tons Species: Stegosaurus stenops gigasLength: 40 feet Height: 12 feet (top of hips), 15 feet (top of plates) Weight: 5 tons All herbivores, but could be potentially dangerous to all but the prepared. Bill, do you A. Fall back to the trailers? B. Attempt to sneak inside posing as one of the BioSyn posse? (stealth roll) Gary, do you A. Got out and meet the other two? (stealth roll) B. Try to call them up on the com-links from the trailer's private radio? (skill roll) Randy, do you A. Attempt to see what's in the last cage and signal Dr. Levine? (stealth roll) B. Fall back to the trailers? 2/3 Objectives Cleared!: Locate Dr. Levine and scout the BioSyn baseDevise a plan to free Dr. Levine and sabotage Biosyn Identify at least three species of Dinosaur·····

The three fall back to the trailers and swap notes. They have to get the fence's power down as a priority to get to Levine. To get to the fence's power they have to open the fence that can take an impact of up to 18 tons or get around it because it's too far to deactivate from the outside. And once they're inside, they have to be able to sabotage the vehicles and open the dinosaur cages to get them free or else BioSyn will just do this all over again.
The three puzzled at the edge of the hill the trailer was packed behind, swapping the binoculars around.
========
Free style turn, propose and work out a plan of action. You need to
-Get around or get through the fence that can withstand up to 18 tons smashing into and has enough electric charge to keep out an elephant. If you can breech the fence the circuit will break and it'll shut off.
-Get to Levine and the dinosaur cages despite the mercenaries around, meaning you'll need a big distraction to keep them all occupied.
-Get the dinosaurs free while totaling the means for the BioSyn team to try this again. Otherwise they'll just regroup.
If you can find a way to do all three, you'll have successfully set BioSyn so far back they can't possible try again with this expedition and won't have time to launch another before InGen and Masrani Corp successfully lock down the island.

Hmm alright, big distraction... I spotted a Mamenchisaurus earlier, an 80 foot beast over 35 tons. If we can find some way to piss it off and lure it to the BioSyn camp, it could definitely break the fence and get their attention. There's also Castiel who could also draw attention but I'm not sure if she's a viable option.

Okay, so we make the Mamenchisaurus follow us, have it smash through the fence (since it greatly exceeds the fence's limit), and have it distract the mercs while we free Levine and the other dinosaurs. Now we just need to iron out any kinks in this plan.

Hmm what if the Mamenchisaurus isn't interested in chasing us or is driven off by the volts? There was the option of V posing as a BioSyn thug, it's incredibly risky but Tarb did say that might he might be able to pull it off... V could be our man on the inside and shut the power.

You three are members of the most resourceful species on the planet. Mankind doesn't progress by bumrushing and bulldozing through what the world brings up around it, it does so by utilizing it. This is the advantage Team Mauve Shirt has over BioSyn. Review what nature offers up and see what use can be made. BioSyn is trying to use sheer force against both fellow man and nature, your team utilizes both. Bill has a "key" upon him that can help in both getting into the camp others lack as well as something else important not related to killing something; with Gary and Randy having the skills and equipment to follow up.

Hmm... We have -A Mamenchisaurus that could ram through the fence -V who could pose as a merc, and wields boltcutters and a radio unit -Dive who has flares that could attract with light -Myself, who has a knife and binoculars with a Tranquilizer -Stegosaur in a cage with a youngster, we could potentially trigger it's protective instincts by antagonizing the baby -Pachy, might not be the biggest but they pack a mean ass punch -Parasaurolophus, moderately big guy that can definitely toss a person like a ragdoll if in the right mindset -Mystery Creature, i have a suspicion as to what it is and if so, BioSyn will be in world of trouble if they're caught. -And Levine, I almost forgot about him, he might provide some insight on what the hell BioSyn is doing...
And that's all we got so far, guys.

Okay, I think I've got it.
V enters the camp pretending to be one of the mercs. He slips away from the group, then shuts off the power to the fence, after which, he cuts it with the bot cutters. Once that's done, I use my road flares to lure the Mamenchisaurus into the camp. Using the big guy as a distraction, we get to Levine and get him out of there. Then, we let the dinosaurs out of their cages and let them trash the place. How's that? Feel free to let me know any additions you want to add.
