Gary let the tension finally fall away from him like filth in the shower, ebbed away by relief, "A war was fought for the future of Sorna, and we won. We traveled to one of the most dangerous places on Earth, and lived..."
He paused and felt a pit in his stomach, not having the heart to draw closer tot he blue form laying in the mainstreet some distance away. He instead looked to her mate whom was watching their warily, "Castiel's sacrifice was not in vain, I salute you, Snoke."
Gary put two extended fingers to his forehead, a motion Bill and Randy parroted for a time before they broke away. The
Spinosaurus didn't understand, why would it, but it understood lack of threat and didn't react in unkind.
Gary slowly nodded as they broke away, putting his arms around his best friends' shoulders, "Now, let's all go home."
They turned away from the super predator and towards the Embryonic's building, "Ooh boyo Sarah's gonna be yelling at us through hell and back, but all things considered, I'd rather deal with her than another Weaponized Hybrid. So do any of you want to come back to my place for a barbecue? Celebration for us living through this?"
"Yeah but probably best tie up any loose ends before the chopper shows up. Best we not linger or risk ticking off Snokey or my Ex," Randy grumbled.
"That be true," Gary nodded, "we gotta fetch Levine, and Dodgson, can't leave them to die and Dodgson's gotta face justice for what he's done. Perhaps we might as well take Crowley in? I'm entertaining the idea of having him as my personal housepet. Oh, and Randy, you forgot to say ORA and only I am allowed to be Jotaro because I'm the "Cool Kid" of this group, you can be Polnareff."
The naturalist gingerly got an elbow to the side by the paleontologist, "Why do you get to be Jotaro? If anything, you're Dio, cause you kept yelling 'WRYYYYYYYYYYY!' Also, why am I Polnareff? My hair's not that tall, and I'm German-Irish. At least let me be Joseph since I'm the guy who knows everything about our mission!"
Gary jokingly narrowed his eyes, "I don't yell "WRYYYYYYYY" all that often, and I get to be Jotaro because I'm the leader and physically the most capable, and debatably more stoic than you two with a few moments of exception. Sure you may know a lot about the Dinosaurs we're facing, but who comes with the plans that kept us alive throughout this whole crazy ass expedition? Still, it was my mistake to label you Polnareff. You can be Joseph or Avdol, Bill can be Polnareff!"
At this point Bill got out of the arm hold his blood brother had them in and rolled his eyes jokingly, "You know, I'm not that much of an anime fan, but that Polnareff guy sounds exquisitely powerful. Also, just so we don't become laughing-stocks in the scientific world, I'll just be taking a tooth out of that Red Death's maw..."
Without needing to say it, he caught the knife Gary toss-passed over to him and nodded to the both of them to settle their goals as he settled his.
"Good idea. Let's have some proof that we nearly got eaten by the scariest thing you can imagine. Just be careful, we don't know if Atherton gave it venom glands or something," Randy quipped as he started helping the still delirious Levine out of the rubble.
"Noted!"
Gary only shook his head as he saw a distinctive hat poking out of the rubble and resisted the urge to yell out he, in fact, had Dodgson here, "Honestly the damn thing looks like some grade schooler's wet dream amalgamation of all the Icon Dinosaurs."
The chopper began to roll in as the team finished their business. Bill carved out four loose teeth from the Red Death's corpse, one for study by InGen's egghead and the other three as 'personal' artifacts. His tooth would make for a lovely office piece. Randy helped to haul Dr. Levine, whom was slowly coming to, onto the roof as the chopper landed and forced some of the dinosaurs back momentarily. The chopper landed and a woman in a stealth suit ran out to help him bring Levine in. She wore thick set glasses and a hood that made her features hard to spot, but Archer was quick to notice she had, of all things, a pair of felt cat ears stitched into the hood as a decoration.
"Hallie We'en!", she yelled over the engines as they secured Levine, "Man am I glad to see you guys in one piece!"
A second form stepped out of the chopper to assist them, pausing after doing so when he noticed a large entity looming over the edge of the roof to peer at them. Still clad in his old Isla Nublar brand labcoat, he ran the gambit of emotions as Snoke watched on and slowly tilted his head at the human. Dr. Henry Wu drew in a breath and sighed, slowly shaking his head in awe at how his greatest creation had exceeded expectations. And not for lack of challenge judging from the scars or equally huge corpse beneath it. Creator and creation watched each other without a word said, none were needed.
Down below, Gary, with later help from Hallie and Randy returning, drag a soon handcuffed Dodgson up the stairs and into the back of the chopper. Bill walked back from his deed, flicking the blood off the knife Gary lent him with several large, thankfully venomless, fangs in hand. He heard and off chirp to his left and a nudging on his hand and looked back to see someone not driven back by the noise of the chopper. History repeated itself with an opened backpack, only this time it was on purpose.
Seven occupants began to leave the greatest of the Five Deaths as the chopper lifted off the ground... It was a shame they forgot to save one flare to drive away the flocks before the
Pteranodon horde reacted negatively to a large, airborne intruder and hobbed the chopper. The pilot was impaled by a massive beak ramming through the windshield and Hallie was-
Randy snapped back awake and now remembered how it really went.
The chopper lifted off as the rain went away, and departed from the island unmolested. The last sight they saw of that place was the raptors silently watching on as the chopper pulled away and noke planted his foot upon the Red Death's corpse. The last crack of thunder was born not of the storm, but of Isla Sorna's monarch establishing his protected rule. And perhaps, bidding a farewell. Back in the present, Randy tilted his glasses up from his face as he sat up from his beach chair. After the mission, Simon Masrani and an ailing John Hammond himself greeted the group on shore after rushing them to the nearest hospital. The list of creatures guide entries, documentation, Hallie's aerial photographs, and something special Bill brought back had been more than enough to call the expedition and smash success. And wish extensive documentation of trespassing, vandalism, armed robbery, destruction of property, animal abuse to endangered species, hunting without a permit, collusion with felons, kidnapping, assault, illegal genetic experiments, theft, tax evasion, and littering a now internationally protected preserve; BioSyn finally had their turn to be up to their necks in lawsuits once Dodgson was brought back and documents of the hunter camp came to light. EPA got a real kick out of that one. All members of the team were put on Masrani Global's stipend funds for life and while not return expeditions were planned, Masrani was adamant about the team being kept happy and compensated as well as in touch. After all, why break up a winning combination? Specially with Masrani planning a expedition to Isla Nublar in the future and might need advisors for it.
The latest Olympics were on the nearby television, Gary was reclined in a Hallie sunbathed on the shore. Even Levine was relaxed, sitting back with a cast around his middle and reading through a scientific journal on a nearby table. Bill was the only one not chilled, barking at his and the group's newest pet as a collared Crowley scampered away after swiping one of the grillmaster's burgers.
Hallie perked up her glasses as the TV shifted and yelped, "Hey it's on!"
The commercial break was replaced by a special message from a recently departed dreamer.
John Parker Hammond died at a ripe old age in 1997, passing the day after his legacy was protected and surrounded by family and friends. His last memory would be of how Isla Sorna was saved.
Back on the island it was business as usual in the weeks after the humans left. Kuro Hime and Bloody Yandere returned to the pack grounds with food in the claw, having recently become the new alpha and beta of a rouge pack who set up shop in the Embryonic Compound. Kuro Hime nested atop her perch as the packmates dug into the tapir corpse, resting her head across the skull of the Red Death's decapitated corpse. Across the island and in the Game Trail, Papa Berenstain and his recovered son watched and waited with anticipation at a passing
Stegosaurus herd; father and offspring looking forward to how the former and his hidden mate would teach their child how to set up an ambush. The Hulk just peacefully grazed at a nearby treetop, the last of the lodged bullets popping out of his hide much to his relief.
And tucked away in the deep jungles near the river, an egg in a clutch shook and cracked. A tiny blue snout poked out of the paleness and chirped before an enormous claw gently gripped the shell and helped pry it away. The tiny baby dinosaur had her mother's blue coloring and stripes as her inheritance from a brave
Suchomimus. And, judging from the short sail across her back and adorably ferocious attempt at a bellow she gave off upon rising, she'd gotten a lot from her father too. It was a shame the humans didn't check all the dinosaurs before leaving, then they would have realized the horn of a demon, who's skull now adorned the nest, had hit someone in the liver. Painful, dangerous, but recoverable once the bleeding stopped. Snoke nuzzled his weak but living mate, Castiel rubbing her neck against his throat before nuzzling her young daughters. (Ya'lls last bonus roll was JUUUUUST enough to finish off the Red Death quick enough, you pulled one last big one out of the hat gang
