Expedition members -
Name: Bill Stewarts RP'd by: Vman0 Role: Engineer Stats: Action:3 Stealth:2 Skill:3 Equipment: Boltcutters, Assault Rifle (12 rounds left), and Radio unit Expedition Group: Team Mauve Shirts Bio: A private eye from the EPA, he was sent to Isla Sorna to investigate the rampant invasive dinosaurs on the island, as well as the litter and junk left behind after it's abandonment by InGen. This assignment wasn't voluntary, as the higher ups didn't like his abrasive personality and guile, which led to his 'reassignment to Antarctica'. He also made a blood oath during his high school years, but who he made that oath with is a mystery.
Name: Randy Archer RP'd by: DiverseInterests47 Role: Paleontologist Stats: Action:3 Stealth:1 Skill:4 Equipment: Medical kit, Road flare (4 left), Ghillie suit Expedition Group: Team Mauve Shirts Bio: Randy Archer loved dinosaurs ever since he was a kid. He studied them all throughout collage and helped on some digs as well, even meeting the later famous Dr. Alan Grant. However, upon hearing of the incident on Isla Nubar, his love for the once great creatures tempered off somewhat. Until one day when he was asked along as a consultant for the Isla Sorna expedition. It is up to him to act as a guide for the others and ensure their survival against creatures perfected by 65 million years of evolution.
Name: Gary Paladecki RP'd by: Temnizziv Role:Tracker Action:3 Stealth:3 Skill:2 Equipment: Tranquilizer (9 shots left), Binoculars, and Ka-Bar Knife Expedition Group: Team Mauve Shirts Bio:A sensitive nature lover at heart, he always preferred to deal with animals rather than the academic subjects of highschool. He lost his father on an automobile accident, and suffering from the resulting grief, had a falling out with a close friend. He eventually went to work for an environmental NGO before being hired by Hammond as a field scout for the expedition to Isla Sorna. He has an antagonistic relationship with Nick Van Owen due to ideological differences and Bill Stewarts for unspecified reasons.
*Currently in the trailers, free access to a more powerful Radio unit (+2 chance on rolls), infinite medical kits; and the opportunity to swap out equipment. You also have a night vision scope you can attach to one of the rifles or keep separate for boosted vision. You may swap your equipment for the first two turns
Objectives: Escape Isla Sorna by -Get to the Embryonics Lab and Compound -Calling out to Dr. Harding's team on the mainland -Surviving the transport travel time turns -Get onto the helicopter with all hands aboard *Hidden Objective and bonus present
The trailers rolls slowly through the forest as it turns into misty, foggy jungle. It's becoming increasingly hard to see outside as the canopy is blocking more and more of the moonlight except in some choice places.
After the encounter with the Carnotaurus pack and a quick snap from an angry Tyrannosaurus, the trailers were holding but severely banged up. Most of the windows were cracked and hard to see through even before the fog messed them up, necessitating Gary to occasionally drive with his window rolled down so he could even see out the foggy and cracked wind shield. In addition the back door to the front trailer was still off its hinge, necessitating Bill with his rifle to sit behind Gary on guard should something try to get inside. It didn't help that the jungle was getting so dense the inside of the trailers was bombarded with an awful racket of branches and limbs smacking against the roof and sides, further risking the windows and giving them away.
"So much for stealth I suppose, unless waking up the whole island was part of the plan," Levine grumbled while plugging his ears.
The lab was still a few miles away and through increasingly difficult terrain, a decision was needed while they still could.
Team, as a group decide amongst your options.
You can, in some attempted combination - Finish repairs to the trailers, waiting for a turn to do so, and then press on? - Continue on through the denser jungle for good cover to make sure you're not readily visible, if noisy? - Go down a very wide, large game trail that has less cover but significantly less foliage for a quiet approach? - Attempt to wait until mourning for some more light and to rest?

I vote we finish fixing the trailer, then go through the denser jungle. Open to suggestions.

What are you thinking of trading it in for?

Flares, to compensate for the scarcity of your supply.
Anyway, as to what we'll do. I suggest fixing up the trailers first, rest and wait until morning and move across the game trail.

I'm waiting for V's input. Of course, he could trade his AR for flares if he wants and i could keep the tranq.

And I'll keep the Tranq. Tarb, do i have to swap an item to attach the scope? No, it's just you need a gun of sorts to use the scope.

Ohh then i attach the scope to my Tranq.

*Item swap, Bill swapped his rifle for flares (8 left) and Gary attached a night-vision capable scope to his tranq rifle (bonus to aiming rolls)
Electing to repair and wait until morning light for safer travel, the group battened down the hatches and repaired the front trailer door to the best of their ability. It wouldn't resist the force of something ramming into it, but at least now it could close properly and many creatures wouldn't think to try to attack what look like a piece of a wall anyways unless they were given cause to. By 7 AM the were rested, refreshed, and ready.
Unfortunately, the wait came with side effects. Many of the herbivorous animals across the island were waking up, both dinosaur and contemporary modern animal. Soon the jungles were becoming alive with the sounds of birds, monkeys, and the prehistoric.
Dr. Harding sighed over the radio, "Good luck boys. Good news is the day light should drive out the Troodon and Carnotaurus from the more lit patches of the jungle."
"I feel like you say that implying there's bad news to, Sarah." Randy muttered.
"Unfortunately, yes. With more herbivores out, the more diurnal carnivores will take their place. And if the Troodon are trying to avoid light, they would go to the darkest area they could... Like dense jungle and buildings. Just saying once you get to the compound, be very wary of any places with cover."
Gary groaned, having hope the seen the last of the googly-eyed bastards, "Duly noted Sarah, duly noted..."
Bill walked over with the radio unit attached to his backpack, "Try to look more alive. If you think dead, you're going to be dead. We're almost home free, EPA going to have a field day in the report room here once I see this compound."
Gary chuckled and headed up to the front trailer to get driving. Time to go indeed, in down the denser jungle they went. Unfortunately for them, the fact their scent had permeated through the area overnight as well as a racket the trailer made going through the foliage meant practically everything in the jungle with nowhere they were shortly....
As did the dangerous predator who leveled a rifle at them and shot at the trailer. The bullet dinged off the rim just above where tire was! But no one can tell where the shot is coming from!
Gary, do you A. Continue on through the denser jungle at a slow pace to try and stay cover? (action roll) B. Turning to wanted again trail going through the jungle to increase your pace and put distance between you and murderer? (action roll?)
Bill, do you A. Duck and try to look out the window to the left at the dense trees? (stealth roll) B. Duck and try to look out the window to the right at the shrubs? (stealth roll)
Randy, do you A. Brace against the shelves to keep them from falling over from Gary having to drive defensively? (action roll) B. Pick up and wait a very reflective sheet of foil to try and draw the shooters attention away? (action roll)

I choose A.
V, look to the trees.
Dive, choose whatever you feel is best though i suggest using foil to distract the shooter.
Edit: Dialogue! Gary: Like zoinks, guys! That Rambo-Wannabe isn't trapped here with us, we're trapped here with him.

Randy: Look, a distraction!

Gary strained at the wheel and turned into a denser patch of jungle to try and give them cover.
"Like zoinks, guys! That Rambo-Wannabe isn't trapped here with us, we're trapped here with him!"
"Oh ha ha! Keep your eyes on the road or lack thereof!", Dr. Levine roared.
Action roll!
RFXf0zFrp_
3 + roll 5 + Dialogue bonus 1 = 9!... Success!
While he did manage to avoid plowing the trailer into a ravine or getting the wheels locked up on a fallen tree, Gary's maneuver had cost further stress cracks on the windshield to form due to foliage impacts and had only thrown off the accuracy of the shots rather than stopped them. It seemed the shooter was in the denser brushed begin with...
"Damn it, can't see him!", Bill roared wall ducking under another shot.
Randy saw some foil roll across the ground got an idea.
"Hang on!" he shouted as he grabbed the foil and weights around, betting on flash of moving metal being a prime target to shoot at through the dense foliage the shooter presumably couldn't see through.
"Look, a distraction!"
Action roll! p_ 3 + roll 4 + dialogue bonus 1 = 8!... Success!
Bullets shot through the window and hit the foil coming from the left, indicating direction and angle as well as wasting some more ammo even as they ricocheted inside the trailer.
Bill held a or his head as a makeshift helmet as he dared to look outside the window to the left while praying he wouldn't be shot at.
Stealth roll! p_ 2 + roll 6 = 8!... Success!
It was difficult as the sun was in the direction, but he caught sight of tell tale sign of rifle fire muzzle flashes coming from a nearby tree stand apart jeep nearby. The shooting stopped and Bill saw why. The murderous maniac was climbing down from the stand and into his Jeep, soon heading for the path the trailers had bulldozed through the foliage to catch back up. To chase down the prey. Around them in the foliage there seemed to be signs of life some sort, some kind of marks in nearby trees and footprints on the ground.
The radio picked up on its own and rang incessantly, someone clearly tried to call through.
Gary, do you A. Turn onto the game trail to try and speed up to get away from the Jeep? (action roll) B. Throw the trailers in reverse and tried to run over the Jeep it gets close? (action roll)
Bill, do you A. Answer the radio to see who could be calling at this time? (skill roll + role bonus) B. Scroll flare (8 left) out the back window to try and burn were blind the hunter and his ride? (action roll)
Randy, do you A. try to identify what kind of animal that is making the marks in the jungle around you? (skill roll + role bonus) B. Scroll flare (4 left) out the back window to try and burn were blind the hunter and his ride? (action roll)

I'm gonna choose A.
Gary: You know, Bill. If that egomaniacal sociopath who's shooting at us happens to be Dodgson, I get the feeling that he's chasing us because you took his hat.
V, answer the Radio.
Tarb, we agreed on four flares, not two. But throw the flare Dive!

"You know, Bill. If that egomaniacal sociopath who's shooting at us happens to be Dodgson, I get the feeling that he's chasing us because you took his hat!", Gary barked as he turned the trailers onto a more open trail to try and put some more distance between them. Action roll! egkRa6_Qp_ 3 + roll 6 + dialogue bonus 2 = 11!... BONUS SUCCESS!
Gary managed to do so in a way that not only gave them a brief lead, but he also skillfully managed to avoid multiple fallen trees and large difference in the road that would've played hell with the axles. Had he been off by just a bit they would have wrecked.
"***** **** ****!", Bill snapped as he hid said autographed hat as he turned the radio on. Skill roll! p_ 3 + roll 6 + role bonus 1 + dialogue bonus 2 = 12!... BONUS SUCCESS!
"Alright, if this is some higher up complaining about me doing absolutely nothing related to wildlife protection, so help me...."
"If only," a South African accent replied, "This is Roland Tembo, I've volunteered my services to Mr. Hammond's associates."
"Tempo was Dodgson's first choice," Dr. Harding noted as a bullet whizzed over Bill's head, "He kinda broke into our base."
"Proved a point," Roland noted, "BioSyn tried to hire me and I will admit the price was tempting. Bag on a Tyrannosaurus buck."
"And you turned it down?"
"Of course I did, I'm a hunter. I know enough about population stability to give the carnivores time to grow. I'm patient. Besides I did not approve of the company nor host, been on enough safaris with rich dentists to know a pack of poachers when I see them."
Another bullet dinged only a few inches from Bill's head.
"Judging from the noise I believe you found my replacement. Dieter Stark is his handle, poephol is a maniac."
"Yeah, tell me what's f***ing new?!", Bill snapped whilst ducking behind a shelf.
Randy ducked under another bullet and looked out the back window and door at the approaching jeep, Dieter's ride catching up to them.
"He's getting closer!" He drew up a flare after getting an idea, lighting it.
"Catch!"
Action roll! p_ (Ooooh triple 6! Lucky ducks you three! Only a 1/216 of that happening) 3 + roll 6 = 9!... Success!
Briefly opening the door after swallowing his fear, Randy ducked under the hail of bullets and lobbed the flare at Dieter's jeep, going through the absent windshield and into the Jeep. The passenger seat lit on fire and Dieter swerved in his driving as he tried put it out. As the trailers rolled down the road without him bearing down on them, something came out of the trees ahead. It was hard to tell if it was just one big animal or a group of more than one.
Gary, do you A. Throw the trailers in reverse and try to run over the jeep while Dieter is distracted at risk of getting closer to the guns? (action roll) B. Honk the horn and keep moving forward to try and get the dinosaurs to move out away? (action roll)
Randy, do you A. Try to identify what kind of animal(s) are up ahead and if they made the marks? (skill roll + role bonus) B. Survey the inside of those trailers and see if there's anything you can use to protect yourself or make use of? (skill roll)
Bill, do you A. Ask Roland about Dieter Stark and see if the maniac has any shortcomings to exploit? (skill roll + role bonus) B. Throw another flare (8 left) into Stark's jeep and see if you can cause more fire? (action roll) ··

Woah. Six six six, the number of the beast(Satan took the wheel). I think I'll name the trailers "The Lucky Dragon No. 6"
I choose A.
Gary: Remember to put on your seatbelts, boys. The Lucky Dragon is in for rough ride from here on out. Alright, you bite me I'll bite you back, B*tch!
Dive, choose whatever yah feel is best though i personally recommend scavenging the trailer.
V, ask Roland.
Sidenote: Roland's surname is spelled Tembo, and how the hell is Dieter alive? The Mamenchisaurus killed him.

Autocorrect for some reason kept changing it to Tempo, eh. 3. tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/NeverFoundTheBody , he got bitten and flung away by the Mamenchisaurus but never directly confirmed he was dead. Was a bait and switch as the dead body the sauropod was shown throwing later from Randy's perspective wasn't named and Dieter was still alive when he was picked up and thrown with the Mamenchi going after a crowd right after, in time to grab another and that's why Randy saw. Dieter still got damaged through, probably his brain.

1. Corrected 3. Really, you go with that? I imagine Dieter's luck is on par with ours to survive that, whatever happened to Dodgson?
Also I'm a bit surprised that you made no commentary on my name for the trailers.
Edit: I'm also impressed that Dieter managed to find a relatively functioning vehicle considering I blew the depot all to hell, and that's not even taking into account the damages the dinos wreaked.

Thank you. 2. Ooooh nothing. It's just you see, depending on one of you three's choices, that name might not be the most fitting next turn. 3. People have survived worse and Sauropods can't bite too hard. Now if the Mamenchia bit, shook, and hurled him a good distance however, he'd be dead as a doorknob. He even might still eventually die from infection anyways.
